This Story was co-created by a grade 7 and a grade 10 student. The students collaborated and wrote a unique story about a boy named Eugene and his journey from isolation to belonging. At his old school, Eugene faced bullying and exclusion, but his world changed when he moved to a new school that celebrated inclusivity at every turn. With a warm poster in the classroom which reads: 'EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE' on the classroom wall, and a teacher committed to teaching the values of kindness, empathy, respect, and 15 essential inclusivity class rules, Eugene found hope and a true sense of belonging.
This engaging lesson comes packed with a PowerPoint/Google Slides presentation, hands-on printable activities, interactive digital activities, an inspiring mp3 audio narration file about Eugene's story, an informative handout, and a ready-to-print digital poster of 15 important inclusivity class rules. This comprehensive toolkit not only empowers students to overcome feelings of isolation but also highlights the pivotal role teachers play in crafting a supportive, inclusive environment where every student is valued. Embrace the journey of transformation and discover why inclusive education is the cornerstone of thriving communities in every classroom.
