Once you purchase this material, follow this activity order:

 

  • Begin the lesson with a brainstorming activity (located in the PowerPoint presentation). The brainstorming activity slide includes text boxes where the teacher can input the students' answers.
  • Then, present the How To Write A 5 Star Sentence rules and examples. (located in the PowerPoint presentation). There are 5 rules and an example sentence that helps teach each rule.
  • Thereafter, get students to pair-up and 'test their memory' of the lesson by working together to write some of the information that they learned during the lesson. (printable handout)
  • Lastly, students will get to do an independent comprehension activity where they will need to write the 5 rules that they have learned about writing a 5 star sentence. (printable handout)
