Spooktacular Halloween Celebrations

Halloween is a fun and spooky celebration that happens every year on October 31st. In many countries, people enjoy dressing up in costumes, carving pumpkins, and going door to door for trick‐or‐treating. In North America, Halloween is a very important cultural event. People join parties, visit haunted houses, and watch scary movies to enjoy the mysterious and exciting atmosphere.
The History Of Halloween

The history of Halloween is very interesting. It began more than 2,000 years ago with the ancient Celtic festival called Samhain. This festival marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. The Celts believed that on the night of October 31st, the boundary between the living and the dead became thin, and that ghosts could come to visit. To scare these ghosts away, people lit bonfires, wore funny costumes, and even left food outside their homes to please the spirits. Later, with the spread of Christianity, November 1st was chosen as All Saints’ Day, and the night before came to be known as All Hallows’ Eve. In time, this All Hallows' Eve became known as Halloween.
Today's Halloween Celebration

Today, Halloween is a time for creativity and fun. Both children and adults choose costumes such as witches, ghosts, vampires, superheroes, or even characters from movies. They go from house to house saying “trick or treat” to collect candy. It is a special day when people celebrate with laughter, fun, and a bit of fright.
